Nigerian Children Plead for the Release of Abducted School Girls in Chibok, Borno State

Children’s day is celebrated world over as set aside by the united nations to reflect on the importance of children as leaders of tomorrow and what the future has in stock for them

In Nigeria, may 27 is a day all children look forward to as it is marked with pomp and celebration but unfortunately the current security challenges in the country and abduction of their peers in chibok, borno state is placing a dark cloud in the sky of the children

Some children in akure the ondo state capital expressed mixed feelings over nationwide cancellation of the event and abduction of the chibok girls

One of them Adebayo Blessing demands the release of the girls noting that their present predicament in the hands of the insurgents is capable of making their future bleak

Patience Adore lamented the fact that they have missed their school certificate exam and called on the federal government to be up and doing in ensuring their immediate relase  

Janet Johnson, a J.S.S 2 student could not contain her feelings crying loud “please bring back our girls!!!…today we cannot celebrate in the midst of sorrow that has beclouded our country”                                                          

They joined other children across the world to pray for quick release of the girls

Remi Famuagun and Femi okeowo on their part said it had become a part of their prayer in school and at home

Parents in akure however expressed disbelieve that the girls abducted in chibok were yet to be released

They called on the government to employ all available approach to facilitate the safe and healthy release of the girls
