Creation of more public secondary schools with Student-friendly environment in Nigeria has been advocated.
A former lawmaker at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Omotayo Abidakun gave this view while speaking at “Giving Back to the Nigerian Public School Project” in Akure
The event held at Ijapo High School, Ijapo, Akure was facilitated by Oye Agunbiade.
Hon Abidakun highlighted values and opportunities of the Nigerian Public schools but said the schools were fast becoming shadows of themselves.
Hon Abidakun tasked government to embark on infrastructure assessment of the entire old public schools with a view to repositioning the education sector.
While describing Ijapo High School as strategically located, he challenged the Alumnis and well to do residents of Ijapo Estate to urgently complete the School Hall and other projects in the school so the students could learn in a comfortable environment.
Earlier, while shooting an inspirational documentary to the students, the project facilitator, Oye Agunbiade tasked the students to be focused on their studies and shun all habits that could truncate their dreams.
