Residents and Motorists plying the route heaved a sigh of relief with the swift response of the Ondo state contractors then which moved to site, constructed drainages and raised the axis.

Little did the people know that the relief would be short lived as the road which had gotten to the Asphalt laying stage was suddenly abandoned by the contractors and as the rains set in , cultural junction Ondo road became a nightmare.

Some motorists and residents who ply the route, Adelani Adepoju and Mike Ologunaye said potholes on the road became uncountable leading to vehicles breakdown, a development which made taxi drivers abandon the route, resulting in hardships for commuters and residents.

Perturbed by sudden withdrawal of contractors, a community leader, Mr Olanrewaju Oluwateru who took Radio Nigeria to a sign post showing a contractor from Kaduna now handles the repair works from Akure to Ore explained that shortly after repairs started last year by the state government, the federal government awarded the road repairs hence the withdrawal of the state contractors.

Mr Farounbi explained that the meeting would fashion the way forward for completion of the road which had caused residents, motorists and other road users a lot of pains .
